about

"This is a concept album exploring religion, the holy bible, and related biblical themes. These songs were all written years ago as a part of a large musical that I abandoned. I thought the project of religious inquiry was both important to me and others. It drives me less now so I put a bow on the idea and thus you have some full assed and some half assed songs. This is no mistake. Nor are the songs written from my perspective. The narrative went/goes something like a boy believes in god and turns into a Spiderman of a superhero and was told by god to save the world. Upon exploring the world and trying to help others, Spiderman is suicidal in light of all the damage that religion has done to truth, love, morality, etc. He sees blatant fallacies, lies, and "mistruths" from the church and he can not make sense of it. He looks at religious texts, biblical figures, the words and actions of churchgoers and is confused into bewilderment. No one will listen to truth, reason, logic, and faith. He can't save himself or those around him and desires an escape from the responsibilities that he no longer believes in. Spiderman does the same thing I did. While at the top of a building debating suicide, instead of killing himself he let's his god die in search of the real truth. I heavily urge anyone engaged with a set of beliefs to not act dogmatically but to question and explore all things with vivacity and mental endurance. If the truth exists even fractionally in a church-like institution it has become so distorted, abused, and hidden like a half dead rat underneath a coffin buried beneath the church itself. Better to leave the church and start digging it's foundation away if you ever hope to find it."
